Let's start building our windows based PC virus free. First We have to install a anti-virus which has real time protection means when a virus trying to infect our PC it detects and disinfect it quickly. Lets find out which anti-virus is suitable for our PC. If someone want to spend money then there is lots of anti-virus suitable for us like MacAfee , Norton (little bit slow) , my favorite NODD32 and Kaspersky , having a solid signature database and comes with many tools like firewall, Schedule scanning , backup and many more. But what when someone doesn't want to spend money and want solid protection. So they can use Avast, AVG , Avira . These anti virus comes in personal edition too and its free to use and update. Avast ant-virus is best in my opinion as it is the only free anti-virus that have real time protection. AVG is considered as using low resource means it will be lightest anti-virus available today , but lacking real time protection. Avira anti-virus is also good but I recommend you to use Avast anti-virus. Installing a anti-virus doesn't protect your PC ,you have to update your anti-virus so that it can detect latest viruses and worms.

Today Spy ware is more dangerous to a virus because suppose in month if virus spread 30 the spy ware will be 300 or more. Most of the bad website uses spy wares to take his visitor back forcibly . So tackling spy ware I use Windows defender as it free and has real time protection to spy wares beside it I installed Ad-Aware 2007 personal edition as it is free and have robust scanning engine unique spy ware signature , it is best in my opinion . but it lacks Real Time Protection (available in Pro edition) that's why I installed windows defender. this will give you total protection to your windows based PC. If someone want to spend money they can go for Spy ware Doctor .
